BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum

The BC Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, founded in 1966 and based at Gate A of BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, is a non-profit dedicated to preserving and interpreting British Columbia’s sports heritage.

Collections & Exhibits

  • Over 28,000 artifacts and archival materials, including iconic galleries such as the Hall of Champions, Vancouver 2010 Olympic Gallery, and the world’s largest Indigenous Sport Gallery.
  • Exhibits honour legendary figures like Terry Fox, Rick Hansen, Greg Moore, women athletes via In Her Footsteps, and Aboriginal athletes.
  • Interactive elements include hockey shooting nets, speed timing, a climbing wall, foosball, and wheelchair simulation.

Programs & Events

  • Hosts annual Induction Gala & Banquet of Champions recognizing athletes, teams, builders, media figures, and pioneers; 452 individuals and 69 teams inducted.
  • Youth-focused Hero In You educational outreach, plus annual provincial summit, museum tours, and volunteer programs.

Visitor Info & Facilities

  • Open Tue–Sun, 10 AM–5 PM (entry until 4:15 PM); temporarily noisy due to BC Place construction.
  • Located at 777 Pacific Blvd (Gate A), easy transit access (Stadium–Chinatown SkyTrain); admission ~$20 adults, discounts via membership or game-day stubs.
  • Facilities include rental space, gift shop, and full wheelchair accessibility.
