CN Tower
The CN Tower rises 553 m above downtown Toronto and remains a defining feature of the city skyline. Completed in 1976, it held the world’s record for tallest free‑standing structure for over 30 years and today still ranks among the tallest towers globally.
Visitors can ascend via high‑speed elevators to three observation zones: the Lower Observation Level with a glass floor at 342 m, the Main Indoor Observation Level at 346 m offering cafe and panoramas, and The Top (SkyPod) at 446.5 m for far‑reaching views. Dining is available at the revolving 360 Restaurant at 351 m, completing a full rotation every 72 minutes.
Thrill‑seekers can book EdgeWalk, a guided experience walking hands‑free around the main pod’s exterior at 356 m above ground – the world’s tallest hands‑free building walk. Ticketing is available via the official site, with separate pricing for standard observation, SkyPod and EdgeWalk experiences.
Operated by Canada Lands Company, a federal Crown corporation, the tower combines telecommunications infrastructure with tourism and entertainment offerings including event spaces, a gift shop and seasonal programming. It attracts over two million visitors annually and features LED lighting displays and special events tied to holidays and sports celebrations.
Best visiting times are clear days or sunset hours for optimal visibility. Expect queues on weekends and holidays. Entry is ticketed and parking is nearby Union Station and Roger’s Centre district; public transit access is excellent via Union Station or streetcar routes.
