Equinox Gallery
Equinox Gallery, founded in 1972 by Elizabeth Nichol, is a Vancouver-based private gallery representing Canadian contemporary and historical artists within an international context. In 2025 it's hosting Takao Tanabe’s early works and “Figures” at Fairmont Pacific Rim, featuring artists like Cindy Sherman and Jeff Wall.
The gallery represents estates (e.g., Fred Herzog, Jack Shadbolt, Gordon Smith) and emerging to mid-career artists (e.g., Sonny Assu, Angela Grossmann, Maggee Day). It combines primary and secondary market sales, publishes books/catalogues, and supports collectors through curated offerings.
Operating Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am–5 pm, in a wheelchair-accessible space on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil‑Waututh land. Over 50 years, it has built long-term relationships—over 400 exhibitions to date—and retains a strong regional identity while engaging international discourse.
