Evergreen Brick Works
Evergreen Brick Works sits on the former Don Valley Brick Works industrial site, transformed in 2010 into a renowned community environmental centre. Operated by the national non‑profit Evergreen, it merges cultural programming with ecological restoration and public space innovation.
Visitors explore demonstration gardens, ponds, restored heritage buildings, and a network of trails embedded in the Don River Valley Park. The site hosts a popular Saturday Farmers Market, artisan markets, garden centre, outdoor learning programs for children and families, and public art installations.
Evergreen Brick Works operates as a social enterprise: revenue from events, markets and programming is reinvested into maintaining the site and supporting Evergreen’s broader urban sustainability initiatives nationwide.
Audio self-guided tours are available for free through the Driftscape app, offering immersive ecological, historical and community narratives tied to key points around the site.
A free shuttle bus runs year-round between Broadview Station and the Brick Works, and parking is available on-site via Indigo Neo app or QR code payments (parking fees support programming).
Every year, Evergreen Brick Works welcomes over half a million visitors, making it a beloved hub for nature play, sustainability education, markets, and community events—all framed within a climate‑resilient park setting.
