Hockey Hall of Fame

City & Attractions/Museums

The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, founded in 1943 and permanently located downtown since 1993, is Canada's premier museum dedicated to ice hockey heritage. Housed in the historic 1885 Bank of Montreal building at Brookfield Place, it features the original Stanley Cup, NHL trophies, memorabilia and biographies of honoured members including players, builders and officials.

With approximately 60,000 ft² of space, the museum includes 15 exhibit zones such as the Esso Great Hall and NHL Zone, where visitors explore NHL history, records, legendary teams and individual milestones like Gretzky's scoring. The “World of Hockey Zone” focuses on global hockey, featuring the IIHF Hall of Fame and artifacts representing national teams, Olympic moments and women's hockey achievements.

Interactive attractions are a highlight: guests can test their skills with NHLPA Game Time, HARIBO Shoot Out or Pepsi Zero Sugar Shut Out—competing virtually with iconic goalies such as Carey Price, Lundqvist or McDavid. Scores and videos are captured for sharing via the museum’s GameCAM system. The museum also includes two theatres showing hockey-related films, plus the Spirit of Hockey retail store and VIP experiences.

Beyond exhibits, the Hockey Hall of Fame is operated as a registered non‑profit charity under the name Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum, independent of the NHL. Membership is overseen by a board of directors appointed by stakeholders including NHL, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey and the City of Toronto.

Admission is priced around CAD 25 for adults, lower for youth and seniors, and includes discounts when purchasing tickets online or via associated retail offers; hours vary seasonally. Closed for induction ceremony day and certain holidays.

Overall, the Hockey Hall of Fame blends rich storytelling, rigorous collection management and engaging interactive experiences, making it an essential cultural and educational visit for fans, families and learners of all ages.
