Lachine Hospital

Lachine Hospital (with the Camille Lefebvre Pavilion for long-term care) is part of the McGill University Health Centre network. It is located at 650 16th Avenue, Lachine, Montréal, Québec. It provides both acute and ongoing care, serving the local community with a mix of general medical and more specialized services.

Services and Specialties

• Has a full Emergency Department and offers core internal medicine services, including infectious diseases, cardiology, neurology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, pneumology, palliative care and ophthalmology.
• Surgery services include general surgery, urology, ENT (oto-rhino-laryngology), bariatric surgery, foot and ankle surgery, plastic surgery, cataract surgery.
• Ambulatory/outpatient services include medical imaging, hemodialysis, endoscopy, pulmonary function / inhalation therapy, audiology.
• Camille Lefebvre Pavilion offers long-term care, including a long-term respiratory patient program, with rooms designed for single occupancy.

Capacity & Community Role

• Includes a long-term care pavilion (CHSLD) with 134 single-patient rooms, of which some are for long-term respiratory patients.
• The hospital also serves as a training site for medical residents and distributed medical education in general and secondary health care, including emergency medicine and palliative care rotations.
• Handles community health functions: events like Men’s Health Day (walk-in prostates / screenings), non-invasive treatments (e.g. pilot site for REZUM for benign prostatic hyperplasia), projects to improve ambulatory care access.

• Referrals for specialist care or first appointments may require use of the MUHC Referral Portal.
• Hospital cards will be discontinued effective August 28, 2025; ensure you have valid Québec health insurance (RAMQ) card.
• Modernization project underway: upgrades to emergency department, intermediate care, private patient rooms with own bathrooms, improved lab specimen transport systems.
• Parking, visitor flow, language (French primary but English services available) are important to check ahead.
