Pacific Museum of Earth
The Pacific Museum of Earth (PME), part of UBC's Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, is Vancouver’s premier Earth Science museum. Established from UBC’s original geological collections, PME is a public outreach hub offering hands-on learning about planetary evolution, minerals, fossils, climate, and natural disasters.

Assessment
PME excels as an educational, accessible, and community-focused museum. Strengths include immersive hands-on exhibits, extensive fossil and mineral collections, and robust programming for schools and the public. Its compact footprint limits exhibit space, and weekend closures reduce public access. Future enhancements could include expanding hours and deeper digital engagement. Overall, PME is a high-value resource for Earth science education in Greater Vancouver.
