Polygon Gallery
The Polygon Gallery (formerly Presentation House Gallery) is North Vancouver’s landmark non‑profit photography gallery. Located on the waterfront, it features 25,000 ft² across two levels, including exhibition halls, a café, bookstore and gift shop.
Founded in 1981, the gallery relocated in November 2017 to a Patkau Architects–designed building, costing ~$18 million. As Western Canada's largest public photo‑focused institution, it presents over 300 exhibitions, from emerging BC artists to international photography icons.
Current initiatives include The Lind Biennial, showcasing BC-based emerging artists with a $25 000 prize, and rotating major exhibitions such as the Canadian premiere of Rotimi Fani‑Kayode’s work.
Membership is donation-based, with benefits like free admission, bookstore/café discounts, exclusive events, and venue rental access. Entry to exhibitions is by donation only. The Polygon also publishes books and catalogs, supports educational programs and community-engagement events like podcasts, sensory-reduced days, artists’ talks and guided tours.
Overall, The Polygon plays a vital role in Canada’s visual arts scene, offering high-quality exhibitions and strong community engagement through thoughtful programming and architecture.
