Proxim – Quebec’s Pharmacist-Owned Community Pharmacy Network

Launched in 2006 by merging three banners (Essaim, Obonsoins, Santé Services), Proxim is a network of around 270 independent pharmacies in Quebec, with additional presence in Ontario and the Maritimes. All stores are pharmacist-owned franchises operating under standardized standards set by Groupe PharmEssor and ultimately McKesson Canada.

Proxim pharmacies offer core health services such as prescription filling and renewal, immunizations (seasonal, travel, others), health monitoring (diabetes, heart, respiratory), medication customization and packaging, smoking cessation consultation, and beauty and personal-care products. Many outlets also feature photo centres, loyalty programs with Option+ private-label products, weekly flyers, and community wellness clinics.

The Proxim mobile app (iOS/Android) allows users to refill prescriptions via photo upload, manage family profiles, access digital flyers, and find nearby stores. It receives regular updates and positive feedback about its convenience and utility.
