Scope & Mission

TELUS World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE) is a prominent non-profit science centre in Edmonton, operated by the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation. It is the largest science centre in Western Canada, offering 144,000 ft² of public space for learning and discovery.

Architecture & Facilities

The centre was designed by Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal, celebrated for fluid shapes and organic forms that reflect science and nature’s dynamism. The iconic Zeidler Dome planetarium and IMAX Theatre are signature venues, offering immersive visual experiences.

Exhibits & Experiences

The centre features interactive galleries such as Nature Exchange, CuriousCITY, Health Zone, Science Garage, Arctic Journey, plus rotating exhibits like “Stardust: The Universe in You” and “Jurassic World by Brickman”. The IMAX Theatre shows both educational and mainstream films, while the Zeidler Dome hosts laser shows and star presentations.

Educational Programming & Outreach

TWOSE supports a wide range of programs—from K-12 field trips, summer camps, science sleepovers, to virtual and outreach initiatives aligned with the Alberta curriculum. DIY science experiments are also available online for families learning from home.

Visitor Amenities & Community Role

Amenities include the Purple Pear café, gift shop, and sustainable infrastructure such as EV charging and free parking. TWOSE welcomes approximately 580,000 visitors annually and contributes to public science literacy.
