TTC
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the primary public transit operator in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1921, the TTC has grown to become the third-largest transit system in North America, providing approximately 1.7 million customer journeys every weekday.
Services
The TTC offers a comprehensive range of transit services:
- Subway: Four lines with 70 stations, forming the backbone of Toronto's rapid transit network.
- Bus: Over 150 routes covering the entire city, including express and night services.
- Streetcar: One of the few remaining streetcar systems in North America, operating 11 routes primarily in the downtown area.
- Wheel-Trans: A door-to-door accessible transit service for individuals with disabilities.
Accessibility

Integration
The TTC integrates seamlessly with other transit systems in the Greater Toronto Area, including GO Transit, MiWay, York Region Transit, Brampton Transit, and Durham Region Transit. This integration facilitates easy transfers and a unified fare system through the PRESTO card.
Fare System
The TTC utilizes the PRESTO card, a reloadable smart card that allows for quick and convenient fare payment across multiple transit agencies in Ontario.
